Environmental noise for creating additively disturbed audio signals

Within the project "Invariant feature extraction methods for automatic speech recognition" (supported by the German Research Foundation under Grant No. ME1170/2-1) environmental noises were recorded for speech recognition experiments under noise conditions.

Four noise types containing environmental noise within

• a shopping mall,
• a car driving on a autobahn,
• a train station,
• a subway

were recorded. More details can be found in the README file contained within the archives.

Downloads

The recorded noise signals were downsampled to rates of 8kHz and 16kHz and grouped accordingly. The archives can separately be downloaded:
